Remains to be Seen, the latest book by Arlene F. Marks, “a veteran author at the top of her game” (Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame author Ed Greenwood) is now out!
Following up 2022’s Weekends Can Be Murder, this book brings the action back to fictional small Ontario town Groverton, where star Selena Watt is looking to buy a heritage house, only for her real estate agent to be found dead on its front steps. While Weekends Can Be Murder featured a historical property that communicated its own feelings, Remains to be Seen takes it a step further, with actual apparitions taking centre stage, along with new character Curt Wakefield, the only person who can see and speak with ghosts.

The book had a pre-launch party last Saturday at the Collingwood Public Library complete with readings, prize draws, and Q&A with the audience both in-person and digital. The livestream of the event is now available to watch on YouTube.
Advance reviewers have been raving about Remains to be Seen, calling it, “a cross between Murder She Wrote and The Ghost Whisperer… Marks’ best book to date” (Ken Haigh, author of On Foot to Canterbury). Author Sarah Corrigan said reading the book is “like taking a Haunted Walking Tour around a small town.” Deborah M. Buehler, author of Tiaris: When the Oceans Kissed, says, “This story is full of humour, heart and clever commentary” and Sally McBride, Hugo and Nebula Award-nominated author of The Price of Memory and More Stories, says, “Be prepared to stay up late – Marks is master of the twisty tale!”
Remains to be Seen is now available to purchase through bookstores everywhere in trade paperback (368 pages, ISBN 978-1-998795-24-6, $28.99 CAD) and ebook (ISBN 978-1-998795-25-3, $7.99) formats. Retailers can order copies through Ingram or directly from the publisher.
