NEW BOOK ANNOUNCEMENT: Urban Fantasy Sequel Features Tattoo Witch Trying To Save Her Own Skin

Magic in art takes on a new meaning when tattoos can power supernatural abilities. The trials and tribulations of tattoo witch AJ Grey continue in 2026 with the upcoming release of the second Grey Witch Adventures book, Virtues of Skin.

In Virtues of Skin, magical investigator AJ is tapped to solve another murder. But this time, she may be the next victim, because this killer is targeting tattoo witches, of which there are only a handful in the country. Ostracized by the witch community in the Twin Cities, AJ is left with few resources and fewer people she’s sure she can trust. And trying to find answers is only painting a bigger target on her back.

This new title follows up 2022’s Between Death and a Hard Place, the first rollicking adventure of the Minneapolis tattoo witch responsible for keeping ghouls, goblins, demons, and more secret from the mundane world. Virtues of Skin will be releasing May 15, 2026 in trade paperback (ISBN 978-1-998795-28-4, $19.99 USD, 266 pages) and ebook (ISBN 978-1-998795-29-1, $7.99) formats.

Weinberg is a compulsive writer who has produced supplement books for the Vampire: the Masquerade and Werewolf: the Apocalypse table top game systems and articles for magazines and academic publications in addition to novels. When not reading or writing, Weinberg plays table top RPGs, teaches whenever possible, and tries to live with the aspects of his personality that are both fundamental parts of him and parts that he had never put into words before, such as genderfluid and autistic.
