NEW RELEASE: Dramatic Space Opera Action And Charming Wit In New Novel Now Available

A story of space travel, a diverse future, and narrow escapes blends with themes of found family and loss in the new science fiction novel The Curve of the Corridor, out today.

Author Victoria Feistner brings a hopeful future to life in a story of gritty engine rooms and settlers on sleek arkships. The book centres on three crews in this rich future: Kasha and her pilot Michigan, honest smugglers carting cargo through a pirate-ridden asteroid belt. Engineer Bei and her family, in the midst of a years-long voyage to a new planetary home. And Agent Mueller, desperately trying to keep his station and crew together as the moment he’s awaited all his life draws near. As all of these crews are plagued by inexplicable and inescapable gravity wells, the truth of what’s going on is stranger and more horrifying than anyone can predict.

Critics are raving about the book, with Booklist calling it “an entertaining space survival thriller, with a compelling setting and solid twists.” Author Grace Seybold, published in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Clarkesworld, and Star*Line, called it “A complex and satisfying voyage through a richly imagined future. Fans of emotionally resonant, large-canvas space opera in the manner of Ann Leckie and Arkady Martine will love Feistner’s The Curve of the Corridor.” Publishers Weekly praised Feistner’s “humorous, energetic prose” in her previous book, Blackout Odyssey.

The Curve of the Corridor is now available to order in trade paperback (394 pages, ISBN 978-1-998795-30-7, $27.99 CAD) and ebook (ISBN 978-1-998795-31-4, $7.99) formats through bookstores everywhere. A virtual launch party is being livestreamed Saturday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. EDT on Twitch. It will feature readings from the book, an interview of the author by publisher Catherine Fitzsimmons, and a Q&A with the chat. The event is open to the public, and anyone with a free Twitch account can join in the chat and ask questions of the author.
