MILTON, ONTARIO, October 7, 2022 – Scotland author David Rae’s Sun Thief trilogy has been hailed by critics such as Reedsy, Reader’s Favorite, and OnlineBookClub.org. Now, the acclaimed trilogy is coming to a close with the upcoming release of the final book in the series, Crowbait.
The story so far
Following up the events of the second book, Crowtower, and leading into the first book, Crowman, Crowbait returns readers to a world of darkness, where the evil spirit Vatu keeps the Sun in a box and lets it out only one day a year. The impact of Vatu’s greed is felt in this final volume as famine spreads across the land, particularly in a distant city that becomes central to the conflict of good versus evil.
Meanwhile, the high priest of darkness, Utas, now freed from Vatu’s shackles, struggles to find purpose after everything he loved was taken from him, and the fate of the girl who glows like the moon hangs in the balance.
Featuring a stark writing style that brings a haunting story to life through troubled characters, Crowbait concludes the trilogy by bringing together the characters and events from the second book into the climactic resolution of the first. By weaving the story out of order like this, readers thrust into the magical world of the first book now get to discover how the events of Crowman came to be.
