NEW RELEASE: Follow-Up To Science Fiction Trilogy Takes Readers To A New World Of Prehistoric Creatures And Decaying Technology

The newest novel by Indianapolis author Dale E. McClenning, author of the Awakening Earth science fiction trilogy, is now out.

Altaterra is an adventurous tale that straddles various genres. Set on a fictional world with pioneer-level technology against a backdrop of the highly advanced alien tech that brought humans there, there are elements of science fiction, fantasy, historical or alternative history fiction, and classic adventure novels like those written by Jules Verne and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

A dangerous journey across uncharted territory and meeting strange people is mixed with politics, conspiracy, and no small sprinkling of humour. With “careful attention to setting and detailed descriptions of everyday activities and lifestyles on this alien planet,” (Publishers Weekly), Altaterra draws readers of many stripes into a fascinating new world cut off from the rest of humanity.

Altaterra is now available to purchase through bookstores everywhere, including Amazon, Chapters/Indigo, Barnes & Noble, and Bookshop.org, and directly through the publisher. Ebooks are available through Kindle, Kobo, iBooks, Google Play, and many other ebook retailers.

McClenning is a science fiction fan, gamer, and history buff who is in the process of retiring from engineering to writing full-time. He lives in Indianapolis, IN with his wife and enjoys visits from his children and grandchildren.

Altaterra is Milton, Ontario science fiction and fantasy publisher Brain Lag’s forty-eighth title. It is Brain Lag’s seventh release of 2023 and fourth from McClenning, following up his science fiction trilogy of Innocent Earth (2019), Divided Earth (2020), and Rebel Earth (2022). McClenning also had a short story in Brain Lag’s anniversary anthology The Light Between Stars (2020). He plans to continue writing stories in the Awakening Earth universe.
