I would like to welcome all attendees to the Toronto launch event of Derwin Mak’s newly written anthology Mecha-Jesus and Other Stories published by Brain Lag.
It is stories like that of Mak’s that highlight the vibrant artistic expression of Canada’s diverse population. I’m certain that readers will be captivated by Mak’s eclectic tales of fiction, fantasy and futurism. These stories are reflections of our nation’s multicultural heritage and should be celebrated for their literary achievement.
Small businesses like Brain Lag are what keep Canada’s grassroots literary scene alive and are integral to our country’s book publishing industry. I applaud Brain Lag for their support of emerging Canadian authors and look forward to their next publications.
I’d like to additionally express my gratitude to Toronto Lit-Up for their initiative in spotlighting local writers and empowering them with career-building opportunities.
I wish you all a wonderful launch event and further success in your literary journey!
